Costello Live Blog pt. 3

The second and third songs of side two are "Drum & Bone" and "Flutter & Wow." Despite their title similarities, they sound pretty different from each other. "Drum & Bone" is a pretty straight forward countryish rocker, and "Flutter & Wow" is a solid piano-based slow jam like "Little Triggers" or "Country Darkness." It's a pretty good song, but there was a little bit of a let down -- Costello shouts "take it to the bridge!" during the song, and I thought, "Oh, fuck yes, his other songs like this, particularly 'Country Darkness' have totally awesome bridges, and by calling attention to it its like he is confident this is going to be THE BEST COSTELLO BRIDGE EVER," but, unfortunately, it was merely a 'good' bridge.
